If you’re working for a pinball manufacturer, please note the following:
Pinball Magazine is primarily a printed publication. The Pinball Magazine website reports on events from the pinball industry, but Pinball Magazine is not Pinball News. That said, Pinball Magazine and Pinball News often collaborate and have a monthly PINcast in which the most relevant pinball industry news from the month before is discussed. Both parties professionally treat pinball industry news.
When it comes to new game announcements or other news, Pinball Magazine’s policy is as follows:
– If a press release is submitted to the editor in time and under embargo, the editor will try to report on the game at launch with an in-depth online article using the materials provided upfront. As Pinball Magazine has a reputation to uphold, any fear of leaks by Pinball Magazine is unfounded.
– If no press release is submitted upfront but instead is made available upon launch, Pinball Magazine will try to report on the new game as soon as possible by copy/pasting the already published press release and adding some promotional materials if available. As the editor is involved in other projects, he can’t be expected to drop whatever he’s doing to report on a new game. In addition, it takes time to write in-depth articles, which isn’t possible when a press release is already public.
Considering the above, Pinball Magazine is looking forward to reporting on your pinball industry news and uptaining a professional relationship with all pinball manufacturers.
